Paul A. Corwin

Mr. Corwin is an associate of Independent Power Associates, Inc. (IPA), an energy consulting and services firm.  He has over thirty-five years experience in electrical power generating and water treatment facilities.  His background includes power plant operations, water and wastewater treatment, maintenance, technical training, and project startup and commissioning.  At IPA, Mr. Corwin's responsibilities involve business development, marketing and project management and implementation.

For the past five years, Mr. Corwin has been working as an independent contractor providing startup support services, technical consulting, and audit and regulatory compliance oversight to the independent power sector.  Recent projects included preparing a commitment-tracking program that addressed all the managerial, financial, and regulatory commitments associated with two, one thousand megawatt combined-cycle cogeneration plants.

Prior to that, Mr. Corwin was Vice President of Business Development for Indeck Operations, Inc. (IOI).  IOI operated numerous combined cycle and simple cycle, diesel, and wood burning power generating facilities in the United States, the United Kingdom and in Central America.  In this capacity, Mr. Corwin had the opportunity to be assigned to numerous project assessment teams whose main purpose was to evaluate power plant assets for potential acquisition.

Previously, he was co-founder and President of Eneract Management Services, Inc. (EMS), an engineering consulting firm employing over sixty professional and technical facility management specialists.  While at EMS, he led the company into the performance based training market and developed the company’s performance based training capability.  Mr. Corwin was also Treasurer of the company and responsible for all financial aspects of day-to-day operation. Mr. Corwin's previous employment included Impell Corporation, Commonwealth Edison Company and the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Corwin earned a Masters of Business Administration at Southern Methodist University’s Executive MBA program in Dallas, Texas, and he also has a Bachelors Degree in Biology and Natural Sciences from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
